Harriet and Jamie were on the lookout for a barn wedding venue in East Sussex, ideally close to the Ashdown Forest. They came across Hendall Manor Barns and knew they had found their venue.
“We wanted a venue that we could put our own stamp on.” Says Harriet. “It was the perfect venue for us.”
Design and Décor
Setting an April wedding date, blush pink, sage green and cream were chosen as the perfect spring colours.
“Our decorations were simple but effective,” explains Harriet. “We had amazing flowers and opted for a banqueting style set up for the tables which worked well.”
And the Bride Wore…
The beautiful bride wore a couture gown in blush pink with a lace bodice and sleeves and stunning chiffon skirt with pink sash.
“It was such a wonderful opportunity to have something designed for me,” she smiles.
Harriet’s two bridesmaids wore simple sage green dresses from Hobbs.
The bridal party arrived at the venue in three Mini Coopers with guests following in a vintage red double-decker bus!
Following their romantic ceremony, drinks and canapés were served before the wedding breakfast.
Choosing one of the approved caterers, a delicious menu started with bruschetta, moving on to chicken parmigiana and a fabulous trio of desserts.
As day turned to evening, the newlyweds danced their first dance to ‘I Can’t Help Falling in Love With You’ by UB40. Fish finger sandwiches and bacon sandwiches proved a popular choice as the happy couple and their guests danced the night away.
“During the speeches, we announced that I was 15 weeks pregnant by holding up our ultrasound scan. That was a moment we’ll never forget!”
