Choosing a Berkshire wedding venue for their dream day, Leanne and James’s July celebration at Wasing Park was effortlessly stylish with beautiful flowers, exceptional food.... and romance, of course!
Wasing Park was the final venue Leanne and James arrived at on a day of visiting venues.
“We felt disheartened by the other venues we had seen and nearly decided to go home,” says Leanne. “Thank goodness we didn’t. We fell in love with Wasing Park straight away. It had everything we wanted from amazing facilities to beautiful rooms for our guests to spend the night.”
Design and Décor
Setting a contemporary style, the happy couple chose a colour scheme of pink, navy and rose gold. Leanne made some of the decorations herself including the table plan and signage. They also used Bubblegum Balloons to create a suspended ceiling in the barn and purchased a flower wall which was a great backdrop for photographs.
“The beauty of Wasing Park is that it doesn’t need too many decorations,” smiles Leanne. “However my secret Pinterest board was full of ideas and some of them had to make it!”
Jodie from The Little Violet created the floral arrangements.
“She has styled many of our friends weddings and her creations are simply stunning,” says Leanne. “The bouquet and centrepieces as well as the ceremony decorations were exactly as I had imagined.”
And the Bride Wore…
Having tried on a number of gowns, Leanne found ‘the one’ – a beautiful dress by Pronovias.
“As soon as I put it on, my heart started pounding, my palms started sweating and I welled up,” she says. “I knew it was the dress!”
The beautiful bride completed the look with rose gold heels and a rose gold bracelet.
James and his groomsmen wore navy suits from Marks and Spencer with James also choosing a grey waistcoat from Hugo Boss.
Finally, the three bridesmaids were stunning in Tulle ballgowns in petal pink by Twobirds Bridesmaid.
Following their ceremony, drinks were served alongside a selection of delicious canapés.
Moving in to dine, a seasonal menu commenced with smoked bacon Scotch egg followed by fillet of beef and, for pudding, vanilla cheesecake.
“The main course was definitely the stand-out,” smiles Leanne. “It was so perfectly cooked and presented.”
As the sun went down, the newlyweds danced their first dance to ‘One Kiss’ by Amber Leigh Irish and wood-fired pizza was cooked in the outside oven – the perfect finale to this most romantic summer wedding.
“Getting to marry my soul mate. Also walking in to the Castle Barn and being greeted by our wonderful friends and family.”
