“When it came to our wedding, our main priorities were having a good celebrating with our friends and family and also having a wonderful meal together. We chose Morden Hall because we wanted a manor house setting and the venue had a feeling of elegance combined with cosy and comfortable. As a bonus, it’s so easy to reach from Central London that it was really easily accessible for our friends who were coming from overseas.” – Maggie
“We didn’t really go with any particular theme, just a colour scheme of pastel shades which we thought went well with Morden Hall’s décor. We put up photos and mementoes from our relationship around the venue and also made origami cranes and stars which we put in glass jars. The idea was to create a feeling of a joyful celebration, and I think we did just that!” – Maggie
“We got our wedding gowns together from David’s Bridal. My ceremony gown was designed by Vera Wang and had very intricate lacing and a bow on the back. Deborah wore an ivory, sleeveless A-line dress with lace along the bodice and down the train. It was very beautiful! We both accessorised with necklaces from Swarowski and shoes from Rainbow Club. In the evening, I changed into an amazing dress from Needle and Thread. It was light enough for dancing and the embroidery really shone in the evening light.” – Maggie
“After our ceremony, we had a drinks reception with incredible canapés that we designed ourselves with the Morden Hall Events Team. A string trio played while we enjoyed drinks with our guests before we went into the Mulberry Suite for our wedding breakfast. Our menu consisted of seared scallop with squid and pancetta to start, a surprise course of lemon sorbet with a lime and vodka shot, smoked duck breast with duck leg confit for the main course and trio of desserts to finish. Everything tasted amazing!” - Maggie
“My favourite moment of the day was definitely when we said our vows to each other, although every part of it was just perfect. To future couples, I would say do exactly what you want! Don’t let other people try to impose their preferences on your wedding. Also try to be flexible during your planning and set some sensible ranges for your budget and stick to them as much as possible.” - Maggie
