With a mid-summer wedding date in mind, Mohini and David were on the lookout for an elegant wedding venue in Essex. Having planned a religious ceremony in Brentwood Cathedral, they fell in love with Braxted Park for their celebrations.
“It was everything we hoped for and more,” explains Mohini. “The manor house is beautiful for welcome drinks and the Pavilion is great for the wedding breakfast and evening party. Braxted Park provided a range of different experiences for our guests.”
Design and Décor
‘Summer Florals’ was the perfect theme for this glorious August wedding day. Coral, peach and rose gold adorned Braxted Park with decorations including beautiful flowers, a sweet heart table with floral backdrop and illuminated LED letters.
“We wanted to create a warm, positive atmosphere where our family and friends could all just enjoy themselves, celebrating the union of the bride and groom,” says Mohini.
Mohini was stunning in a lace gown with long train.
“I fell in love with it as soon as I tried it on,” she smiles. “It’s true when they say you know it’s ‘the one’.”
The beautiful bride accessorised with shoes from the Ted Baker bridal range, platinum and diamond earrings and a bracelet from her new parents-in-law.
Meanwhile, David looked the part, wearing a bespoke suit for the ceremony and black tie for the reception.
Mohini’s bridesmaids chose coral-coloured dresses with nude shoes and elegant jewellery.
Order of The Day
Following their magnificent ceremony at Brentwood Cathedral, the newlyweds and their guests returned to Braxted Park for drinks and canapés on the lawn and in the Orangery.
“The weather cleared up and it was beautiful outside,” smiles Mohini.
Moving in to dine, the fabulous menu was a mix of four Mediterranean starters, four Indian main courses and two desserts, an Indian tradition where the guests can choose from a selection on their table.
“David is Italian / Maltese and I am Indian so the menu combined both flavours,” explains Mohini. “The butter chicken was a stand out dish for us – it was delicious.”
As day turned to evening, the happy couple danced their first dance to ‘You and I’ by John Legend and DJ filled the dance floor. Live Dhol drummers (Indian drummers) proved to be the perfect finale to close the entertainment. When it came to evening dining, pizza and chips was a popular choice!
“Walking down the aisle and seeing the face of my future husband who was very emotional!”
Advice from the Bride
“There is so much to do when planning your big day. Set yourself a goal to tick something off every month – it helps to break it down. Treasure every moment, from the cake tasting to choosing your flowers.”
