“Today, people are more conscious of good skincare and showcasing healthy, glowing skin, which is partly a reaction to the heavy makeup styles that have been popular on social media. Brides are realising that good makeup starts with good prep, not just on the day but in the run-up to the wedding too.” – Cathryn
“I made skin prep the focus, using Glow Tonic by Pixi followed by Embryolisse Lait Crème to add luminosity and glow to the clean skin. EX1 Invisiwear Liquid Foundation was perfect for that real ‘no makeup’ look. For the eyes, I used an eye shadow with a slight shimmer and lots of mascara. Larger brows are currently in vogue, so I used soap to brush them up and set them in place. For the lips, I slicked on a nude gloss and for this I used Apple Taffy from The Body Shop.”
Contemporary bridal hair is all about simplicity and elegance and for this look, Carol went for a sleek ponytail with a hair clip that complemented the dress perfectly. Carol also curled the end of Vicky’s ponytail to provide a little extra volume and texture.
“The overall look for a modern bridal style is minimal yet contemporary and fresh, so we focused on youthfulness and letting natural beauty shine through.” – Cathyrn
To complete the look, a beautiful gown from Matthew O’Brien was the perfect addition. With an A-line tulle skirt, beaded bodice and deep V-neck, it created a soft and romantic, yet contemporary wedding day style.
