“We knew we wanted a barn wedding venue and looking at the brochures, Sandhole Oak Barn really stood out. We then went to the open day and the staff were so friendly and welcoming we just knew this had to be the place for our wedding! The feeling of rustic style and tranquillity there is second to none.” – Pip

“The theme of a day was New York meets Cheshire! We got engaged in New York at Christmas and wanted to bring that element of glamour and sophistication to the day. We chose a deep blue, pink and grey colour scheme as we felt these brought a sense of sophistication, glamour and elegance which we hoped would be reflected in our wedding day! Most importantly, we just wanted the day to be full of love and happiness, as well as being lively and in high spirits. I surprised Anthony and arranged for a saxophonist to play during our drinks reception which definitely created a fun and energetic atmosphere!” – Pip

“When it came to decorating the venue, we went for simplicity and a less-is-more approach. Sandhole Oak Barn provided fairy lights that were wrapped around the exposed beams and we added a light-up heart placed at the end of the aisle. We decorated with floral arrangements too which complimented my bouquet of roses, gypsophila, eucalyptus and pink astilbe.” – Pip

“My wedding dress was honestly the princess dress of my dreams! It was by Pronovias and I loved the fact that it had pink in it. I feel like if I told my five-year-old self to design the perfect wedding dress it would be this one! When we entered dress shop number three, my Mum and I both went up this dress at the same time and I just knew it was going t be the one. I still tried on six more though just to be sure! Anthony looked great on the day in a Prince of Wales check suit.” – Pip

“Anthony and I both got ready on-site at Sandhole Oak Barn, me in the Dressing Room and Anthony in the Shepherd’s Hut with his groomsmen. We said our vows in the Ceremony Barn overlooking the lake and then the saxophonist played while we signed the register and made our way down the aisle. We had canapés and cocktails on the banks of the lake before making our way into the barn for our wedding breakfast. Being BIG foodies, the menu was very important for us and in the end, we decided on baked asparagus wrapped in Parma ham to start, fillet of beef and dauphinoise potatoes for the main course and a trio of desserts to finish. The main course was just excellent and got the most compliments out of all of them.” – Pip

“My favourite moment was definitely walking down the aisle with my dad and then Anthony and I exchanging our vows. I was so happy and I could feel the love radiating from our friends and family. If I could give any advice it would be to focus on enjoying the journey and don’t worry too much about the little things and minor details. I’d also recommend trying to include personal touches in your day to make it even more special!” – Pip
